TO celebrate Bristol's Green Capital status, Sustainable Redland will be running a weekly market from May.

The group says that its aim is to keep reminding people about the importance of locally produced food, and how it reduces carbon emissions.

There will be a wide selection of meats, breads, pies, cakes, locally brewed beer from Towles' Fine Ales in Easton, and locally grown veg and fruit, as well as freshly made sushi, plant stalls and live music.

The market will be held every Saturday at the junction of Whiteladies Road, Apsley Road and Burlington Road, 8.30am-2pm.
