The 2015 Westbury Park Festival will start with the two-day Art Trail, now in its third year, on June 19th (6-9pm) and June 20th (11am-5pm).

Clearly the area is buzzing with creativity and provides one of the most compact art trails in Bristol – easy to walk around and an opportunity to explore the neighbourhood at the same time.

Visitors can meet artists in their own homes, in local galleries and in the Methodist Church on North View.

Forty-six artists will be showcasing many aspects of creative arts including painting, printmaking, textiles, mixed media, ceramics, woodturning and jewellery.

There are some great new events at the festival this year including a Textile Workshop for children at Heart Space (June 20th 10 am), a Poetry Café at Caffe Arabica (July 1st 5.30pm) and ‘Our Lives in Twenty Objects’ (July 2nd 8 pm).

The first week includes Quiz Night (June 26th 7.30 for 8pm), a look into Westbury Park's Open Gardens (June 28th 2pm) and a look at literary sequels led by Kathryn Atkins (June 30th 8pm).

“We are not abandoning some hardy annuals,” said Janet Brewer. “Jeff Bishop will take us into new terrain on June 27th with a City Centre walk (10.30am), Gordon Young's film night, new last year and a great success, will be repeated on June 24th June (7.30pm) and The Cambridge Arms will be hosting a family barbecue at lunchtime July 4th.”

Westbury Park's musicians will hold their ‘Out There Concert’ (June 27th 5pm) and St. Alban’s Church will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary (July 11-12th) with a garden party and a Celebration Service.

The festival’s charities this year are Parkinson's UK, and the Great Western Air Ambulance.
