Open Up Music launched in 2013 to find a new approach to enable more disabled children and young people to access music. They have developed instruments that are playable in real time and to a high level using any part of the body, including the eyes.

Musical Director for Open Up Music, Doug Boult, said:

“We’re delighted with this national recognition for our charity which operates out of a front room in north Bristol. We’re now well on our way to bringing performance and composing within reach to all young disabled people in the UK.
