We recently enjoyed our annual presentation evening at Golden Hill, with eleven year groups reflecting on a fantastic season for the whole club. Our under 7s got things going, looking back on a fun-packed season. Every year group took their turn, celebrating team successes and individual achievements. Our under 11s celebrated coming second in Hanham Minor League Division D, in their first season of competitive football, our under 15s are proud of their impressive fourth place, in their first season in Avon Youth League Division 2, and our under 18s enjoyed showing off their League trophy! It was also an evening to recognise all the hard work that our coaches and committee put in throughout the season, and everyone was pleased to see our Special Recognition award going to our hard-working secretary, Lucy Lyon.

We were all delighted to see that our local team, Bristol Rovers, won their Play-Off Final at Wembley, meaning that all our red and blue Sonics can celebrate great seasons for their teams!

All of our League games have finished now so some of our children are concentrating on playing cricket, for Bristol YMCA, but lots are enjoying the summer tournaments every weekend. Several of our teams enjoyed the well-organised tournaments at Thornbury Town and Clifton United in recent weeks. Our under 11s were also lucky enough to be invited to play at Bath Citys tournament, held at Twerton Park Stadium – it was a lot of fun for the boys (and the parents), running out from the tunnel, sitting in the dugout and, of course, playing football!

We will be entering teams into several more summer tournaments – they are a great chance for the children, and the parents, to have an enjoyable day out (in the sun!).
