SINGERS aged from under eight to over eighty are taking part in a unique concert in Clifton Cathedral in Bristol next week.

Generations of Song is the first music event involving all the schools in the Colston's Girls' School Trust: the secondary Colston's Girls' School and primaries The Dolphin School and The Kingfisher School.

The young performers will be joined for the evening by representatives from the Golden Oldies choirs, led by Genville Jones.

The concert on Wednesday March 25 is organised by Ben England, director of music at CGS. He said the programme included a range of music for choirs, orchestra and audience including pieces by Aretha Franklin and The Script, rock and roll favourites and a tribute to the soldiers who fought in World War One.

“No matter your age, there will be a song for you!” he said.

Tickets for the concert, which starts at 7pm, are on sale at Colston's Girls' School in Cheltenham Road at £5 for adults and £3 concessions.
