COTHAM Hardware has beaten tough, national opposition to win the prestigious Hardware Retailer of the Year award.
The 99-year-old independent store on Cotham Hill in Bristol picked up the award at the DIY Week Awards, which took place in February.
The panel of DIY industry judges said: "What Cotham Hardware has achieved over the past 12 months is incredible."
The judges also congratulated the store on its recent transformation, including their use of fun and creative marketing ideas to create a buzz.
Famous for its quirky and eye-catching window displays, which have gone viral via the internet, Cotham Hardware celebrated their win with a fun take on the famous Oscars ‘selfie’ with a ‘Do it Yourselfie’ window display.
Typical of their unique displays, the window depicts a line-up of some of Hollywood’s biggest names admiring the award.
According to owner, Dave Jenkins, the reaction from locals has been "fantastic".
He said: "We are very proud to have won this award and would like to thank all our customers for their support and encouragement.
"We want to continue to serve our community beyond our normal shop opening times, which will include not only a click and collect service, but also free delivery by bicycle if at all possible."
