BISHOPSTON is now home to a new "uber" child-friendly cafe and party venue, that places a strong emphasis on quality, healthy food.
Located just off Bishop Road, Playful Cafe was set up by local parents, Kate and Nico Ferrentino.
Parents to five children, the couple wanted to open a cafe where children can not only be welcomed and entertained, but where parents can relax.
After many years in the catering industry, Kate and Nico pride themselves of serving home cooked, and healthy food, which is locally sourced and free range where possible.
Playful Cafe, which accommodates for children aged 0 to 4-years-old, has a separate play area in the annexe, as well as a parents' kitchen, where parents can use the microwave, fridge and bottle warmers; a baby lounge, equipped with comfy sofas for mothers wishing to breastfeed; and a role play lounge, with fancy-dress costumes.
The cafe also offers occasional free singing and story time sessions, as well as provides a place for regular classes and support groups for local parents and the community. At weekends Playful Cafe can be hired out for children’s parties.
The cafe does not have an admittance charge, but will operate a cover fee of £1 a head.
